Welcome! This is the personal homepage of Thomas Ryan Stone, of Rochester, New York. I was born in 1973 and am a native Western New Yorker, having lived all but two years of my life in the Rochester area. I have a BA in Philosophy (University of Rochester, 1995), and did one year of graduate work in philosophy at Ohio State University. I am currently employed (since 1999) as an Instructional Designer at Element K, an e-learning company based in Rochester. I am married to Susan Dawn Wake. We don't have any children, unless you count our two cats. You can learn more at the About Me page at this site.

Blog: I have a blog, named Philosopher Stone, that I started up in early 2006. I post on a wide range of areas, some are serious and some are just for fun. You can get a good sense for the range of topics by visiting my blog categories index page and just browsing through the several dozen categories for my posts.

Baseball Book: Another of my current projects is the baseball book I am writing. I have posted the introduction and many of the draft chapters, and will continue to do so as I write.

Philosophy Resources Website: To the extent that I am "known" outside of my circle of friends, relatives, and colleagues, it would be because of my work as creator of the EpistemeLinks philosophy resource site. I started this project in 1997, and it now includes over 19,000 links to resources in philosophy, all categorized by over 400 philosopher areas, 50 topic areas, as well as the type of resource (e.g., journal, organization, e-text, encyclopedia entry, etc.) The site also has some special features, such as a quotations database, birthday and date of death calendars, and more. The site is used by professors, students, and anyone with an interest in philosophy. It gets about 7,000 visitors per day, and is widely considered to be the best site of its kind (or at least one of a very few). I have spent thousands of hours on it over the years, and I am proud of my accomplishments with it. Keep visiting EpistemeLinks to see what is new! And for an overview and introduction to the project, including two demos, see the Multimedia Presentation that I created in December 2006.
